Maintenance and upkeep should follow the principle of "daily inspection, weekly maintenance and annual repair":

1. Daily inspection: Before operation, check the insulation and grounding resistance of the power cable (it should be < 4 Ω); after exposure, clean the dust from the X-ray generator's cooling fan.

2. Weekly maintenance: For magnetic particle flaw detectors, calibrate the magnetization current (error ≤ 5%) and replace aged magnetic suspension (its concentration must comply with ASTM E1444).

3. Annual maintenance: For X-ray flaw detectors, check the attenuation of penetrating power (it should be < 10%) and replace aged X-ray tubes (typical service life 2,000–5,000 hours); ultrasonic flaw detectors require sound velocity calibration (error ≤ 0.1%).

Routine care for stationary magnetic particle inspection machines is covered in detail in our MT inspection operating and maintenance procedure.
